Under a facade of ministry and piety their lurked an old, sexual diviant behind the mask worn by male sexual predator, William W. (Bill) Gothard, born November 2, 1934 (age 79), B.A., M.A., Ph.D., founder of the Institute in Basic Life Principles. IBLP is a non-profit corporation dedicated to serving youth and families through God-ordained leaders (Bio source: billgothard.com). In 1984, Gothard founded the The Advance Training Institute (ATI), a home schooling program modeled after the Sermon on the Mount (Wikipedia). 

Thanks to a whistle blower named “Tony” - called by Bill Gothard as “The Agent” of Satan in a 19 page defamation letter.  And after a reported “34” courageous, women's complaints.  Bill Gothard,  Ph. D., self-proclaimed and promoted, devout man of God, has been officially labeled “a deceptive fantasy sex addict”. Gothard used his clout, ministry title, and biblical authority, to provide an in road by which he eased his sexual desires and lustful tensions.  As he hired and seduced, young, innocent personal secretary's, basking in their adulation, adoration, praise, and attention.  His brother, Steve Gothard, while also working for IBLP, was accused of much the same sexual impropriety.

Instead of Tony (a former Mennonite – who was excommunicated and shunned by his church due to Bill Gothard's character assassination), we learn the Gothard brothers were the true “ Agents of Satan”. I have read “Meg's” story and confession, one of many to come forward with testimony, of Bill Gothard's  sexual proclivities, heavy intense and horny breathing, playing footsies, thigh, neck rubs, hand holding, petting massages, and the fantasy of physical perfection. As Bill Gothard desired and arranged for Meg to have removed from her neck, skin tags, that he claimed were “distracting”.   

Other damaging evidence by innocent female, victims testimonies (the following is a list of all currently published allegations from the recoveryingrace.org website) confirm this dirty old man was into sexual foreplay no matter how he defines his actions:

I conclude, Bill Gothard is a very sick man in need of intense , professional, psychological Christian therapy and counseling.  Gothard's statement (as posted on billgoddard.com website) literally shocks one's conscious, as he confided (statement in part):

"...my actions of holding hands, hugs, touching of feet or hair with young ladies crossed the boundaries of discretion and were wrong.  They demonstrated a double-standard and violated a trust. Because of claims about me I do want to state that I have never kissed a girl nor have I touched a girl immorally or with sexual intent."

It is Bill Gothard's full statement and his own words that serve to seal any doubt in this readers mind that he was and is a very troubled, repressed, lonely man. Gothard obviously has a deeply rooted, sexual lust problem, and may have fared much better if he had kissed a girl when he was younger!  

Perhaps if he had married, and had children, he would have lead a more God fearing life.  As the Apostle Paul confirmed in 1st Corinthians 7:9, it is better to marry than burn with lust.  Inquests into Bill Gothard's actions have only served to fuel the need for additional questions and answers.  Does Bill Gothard suffer from sexual suppression, repression, insecurity, shame, lack of emotional well being, and healthy self confidence? 

God only knows what his seated, psychological, social problems were and are. It is obvious he is an older man, who personally selected young, innocent, female victims he could manipulate and control, rather than seek out a mature, Godly, age appropriate, woman he could bond with and marry. Both Gothard brothers lived a secret double-life that lead to predatory actions.

BILL GOTHARD HAS NOT SHOWN TRUE SPIRITUAL REMORSE FOR HIS ACTIONS

Bill Gothard betrayed the trust of those in his care.  He very slowly groomed his choice of many, young, innocent, girls that he found physically attractive and appealing, with little regard of the emotional harm, wounds, trauma, strife, he inflicted.  Betrayal bonds are traumatic.  It is a very sick mentality to justify, or think, that just because he did not kiss or touch these women in private areas, that they were not harmed. Emotional rape is rape just the same!  

Sexual harassment shows the predator's lustful, fantasy mind set.  The degree of intent does not eliminate the cause and effect of the trauma so induced. Sexual predators most always seek to minimize and negate their negative, evil actions.  

New Age, Occult visualization guru, *Napoleon Hill, author of “Think and Grow Rich” (who barely got by, spent more money than he often made, and was married three times), has a lot in common with ministry leaders, Bill and brother, Steve, who used sexual transmutation as an ego sexual boost .  Napoleon Hill writes in his book, “Think and Grow Rich”, pages 176-177,  concerning such male-female sexual transmutation being an important key to success.   He links the powerful ability of an exciting, female secretary as a source of inspiration.

By their example and writings, we learn of their touted lust addictions as a source and outlet of sexual excitement and fulfillment. Preying on pretty, female play things, as personal secretary's to meet their lust needs, who are most often half their age, is a desire of the playboy “Hugh Hefner's” in the world.  Certainly not wise, men of Holy inspiration and God fearing logic that the Gothard brothers promoted themselves to be.

Hill and the Gothard brothers espoused certain discernment and leadership skills to the world, yet in reality were very spiritually frail themselves. Noted for helping others achieve personal success yet never quite living up to their public image nor God ordained destiny. These three men desired the lure of animal attraction to fuel their fire. Instead of fire in the belly we learn their goal was fire in the pelvic as a source of inspiration. What they really needed was the convicting power of the Holy Spirit of God.

In this writers opinion, the likes of Napoleon Hill, Bill and Steve Gothard, are a dime a dozen.  Sexual lust and excitement will not meet soul and spiritual needs only God can fill. True success in life occurs only when we live in surrender to God's word, will, and ways. These men sought to supply their lack of faith in God alone, and the Holy wisdom, education, and knowledge He provides, with the lure of lust, and attraction to animal magnetism. 

Bill Gothard was a male sexual predator who selected and groomed his victims slowly and wisely.  His actions were well calculated in the beginning of his addiction pattern to lust and as time went by, and he thought he had gotten away with crimes deep within his heart, his sin pattern grew to consume him and his chosen female victims. The emotional and mental rape of innocent women betrayed, is no less a sexual invasion, with lasting scars hidden deep within their soul and spirit.  

 Bill Gothard's sins found him out.  Thanks be to God!  My prayers go out to his "many" victims, that their healing be swift, with their heart finding the power to forgive.  I also pray all sexual predators find Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, to fill the deep hole within their soul and spirit.
