False prophet, proclaimed evangelist in the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) - so called "Kansas City Prophets", Bob Jones, back in the early 1990's was removed from ministry duties after sexual abuse allegations made the news. Jones had wowed attention by way of telling visionary stories that served to high cast him Biblically. He cited when he was seven years old (some accounts say 9 years old), the archangel Gabriel appeared to him riding a white horse and blowing a double silver trumpet into his face before throwing an old bull skin mantle at his feet. That mantle he stated was that of a "seer prophet". He claimed he died in 1975, but God brought him back to ministry, teaching on the gifts of the spirit and God's love for just a time as this.
"Soon after the Vineyard Christian Fellowship had started to work with the Kansas City Fellowship, Jones was removed from his ministry duties at the Vineyard due to sexual misconduct. This misconduct did not include intercourse, but consisted of encouraging women to undress in his office so they could stand 'naked before the Lord' in order to receive a “word.”
Mike Bickle became a ministry lead in this group for a time and season and he too fell into lust mode for sexual sin obsessions. In concert with Jones and Bickle, group ideology formed to foster strange and deceptive manifestation revivals at Brownsville, Florida Assembly of God, following Toronto, Canda, Airport Vineyard church lead. All of which lays bare the fact: When a minister claims to speak for God, spiritual deception can take root time and time again. Jude 1:3-7, issues a steadfast warning to beware!

Why do people fall for such deception agents of destruction? Because they choose what they want to believe (oftentimes due to enticing emotional hype) over that which God has provided and cited within His divine word (Romans 1:20; John 1:1). Sin is based upon one's freewill choices in life (1 Corinthians 10:13). One's heart becomes more debased and deceitful when the Holy Spirit's conviction is ignored (James 1:22).
Lying spirits are common foes (1 Timothy 4:1). As Satan's host of wicked spirits work to confuse and deceive lost souls in the mix, many victims fall prey (2 Timothy 3:13). Most affected are duped humans in lust mode who prefer to have their ears tickled by way of false prophet preachers touting proclaimed words of knowledge (2 Timothy 4:3).
God has said, watch out so you will not be so easily deceived (Matthew 24:4).
As we place our faith in His biblical word, spiritual fruit and change from within and without one's life is made sure (Psalm 119:11). We who heed and desire to do God's word are better equipped and empowered by Holy Spirit discernment, to not be deceived (John 17:17; Jeremiah 17:9; Isaiah 44:20).
As for the likes of false prophecy preachers like Jones and Bickle? Pride within the heart served to seed a host of deceptions (Obadiah 1:3). What we seed we feed. And what we feed upon, we become. God's word is true: "Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall" (Proverbs 16:18).
